Child Dedication is you as a parent making a public commitment to the Lord to do everything in your power to raise your child in a Godly manner until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow God.
It's entrusting your child to God's care, seeking His wisdom in parenting, asking Him to help you model your love for Him and to be an example to your child in following Him. It's inviting God to be active in your family. (Deuteronomy 6:4-7)
Dedication is not the same as salvation or baptism. Salvation happens when your child decides on their own to begin a relationship with God and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Baptism is when your child decides to go public with their faith.
